Q: What is NAV2’s business?
A: NAV2 is one of the major digital map suppliers in China.
Q: Why do Map Data CDs cost so much more than a music CD?
A: NAV2 invests in extensive research and field-testing for each Map Database. Its employees, the geographic researchers, drive over one million of kilometer a year to ensure that the database is accurate. NAV2 has a team of lots of field drivers in China to maintain the quality and increase the coverage of the digital maps. A navigation CD/DVD will be used on a frequently basis over a period of many months, it’s a worthwhile investment.
Q: Do you sell software?
A: No, we don’t sell any software but map data only. But we have many strategy partners who focus on software. We can recommend a suitable software provider to you, if you need a total solution.
Q: How much do you sell for the map?
A: Actually the price is related to many factors, such as product specifications, sales volume and launch date, etc.
Q: What is the relationship between NAV2 and NavInfo?
A: NAV2 is a Joint Venture, and NavInfo is one of our investor.
Q: Is NAV2 selling the same map sold by NavInfo?
A: Yes, NAV2’s map data is from NavInfo. But the data format is not the same.
Q: What is the typical advantage of NAV2 map, compared with other map suppliers?
A: With many NavInfo staff in field collection, we drive the roads - the only proven way to consistently provide successful routing, guidance and an understanding of specific points of interest.

Furthermore, we are the only digital map supplier who has the quality assurance of in-vehicle navigation.
Q: How often are NAV2 products updated?
A: The NAV2 database is continually updated. It is this data that is used by the system supplier to create revised map CDs/DVDs or memory cards. The entire China map data, in normal circumstances, updates ones a year. But for the map of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, is approximately every six months.
Q: Is the satellite signal ever lost?
A: Yes, tunnels, mountains and tall buildings may temporary interfere with the signal.
Q: Will the system allow me to change travel plans en route?
A: Absolutely. Simply re-program your destination. The navigation system will also automatically recalculate an optimal route for you.
Q: Why does the navigation system no show what I know is the shortest/fastest route?
A: We all know shortcuts within our local areas that we use to avoid rush hour traffic or poorly timed traffic lights. The navigation system calculates routes using the detailed information within the database and takes into account various circumstances including actual distance, allowable speed, physical/functional classification of the road, turn restrictions, etc, You can use the Detour option in your navigation system to enter your personal preferences, including avoid Freeways, emphasizing speed over distance, allowing the user to avoid specific roads as well as consider traffic jams with the TMC functionality.
Q: Why some place can’t be searched but can be founded?
A: Some contents of digital maps are only for display, which can’t be used as a POI or address.
Q: Can I use the Map Data CD/DVDs or memory cards in other navigation system I sell?
A: No. The map format won’t function in other systems. The Map Data CD/DVDs or memory cards will only work in your factory fitted navigation system.
Q: Can I make duplicate Map Data CDs or memory cards to use in my other cars?
A: No. The licensing agreement does not allow end users to copy the data and in most cases navigation systems are not compatible with each other. A wrong CD/DVD or memory cards might damage your navigation system!
Q: I don’t want this navigation system because my favorite restaurant is not included on your POI list.
A: The Points of Interests that change most often are petrol stations, hotels, restaurants and dealerships. These changes are reflected in the updated versions of the map database. We recommend a map update be purchased on an annual basis so you have the most current information.
Q: My house is not in your navigation system. Why should I get it? Why I can’t find the road on the map?
A: The map database company is working to provide everyone with coverage. Roads constantly change and new subdivisions are constantly added. Map data is constantly updated to account for these road changes. New map updates are made available on an annual basis.
